Pentax 26x zoom X-5 camera revealed

The latest bridge camera from Pentax, a 16MP beauty, is packing some serious zoom capabilities

Pentax has just announced its X-5 bridge camera packing in a super 26x zoom lens, all powered by AA batteries.

The sub-DSLR uses a 4-104mm lens and back-illuminated CMOS sensor with low noise from an ISO range of 6400. It can even manage 10 shots per second with a wide-angle setting of 22.3mm up to 580mm. All this means a very versatile snapper that’s still small enough to take on your hols without feeling like it’s a workout during your relax time. Plus the AA batteries mean you don’t even need to lug a charger with you.

The Pentax X-5 also offers 1080p video and sports a 3in display to view it on. Not bad at all for the meager US$280 (£175) price tag.
