Apple iPad Mini to kill iPad 2?

It looks like October 23rd could be a day of life and death for Apple slates

When Apple announces the iPad Mini on October 23rd it may also announce the end of the iPad 2.

According to Evercore Partners analyst, Rob Chira, Apple will streamline its tablets once the iPad Mini is announced, leaving little space for the similarly spec’d iPad 2.

With the iPad Mini expected to sell more than 7 million slates by Christmas, and at a similar price to the iPad 2, it’s little surprise we could soon be saying goodbye the the iPad 3’s skinnier predecessor.

Check back on October 23rd for full coverage of the iPad Mini launch event.
