Apple to unveil new iPod Touch at iPhone 5 launch
Refreshed version of Apple's media player set to feature iPhone 5's 4in screen plus A5X processor
Apple is gearing up for the launch of its new iPhone 5 today – and it looks like the iPod Touch is set to get a long-overdue refresh, too.
According to AppleInsider‘s sources, the iPod Touch is set to get a screen size boost, sporting the same 4in, 1136×640 Retina Display that’s expected to arrive on the iPhone 5. The refreshed version of Apple’s media player will be powered by the same A5X processor found in the iPad 2, instead of the iPhone 5’s A6 chip.
Both the iPhone 5 and new iPod Touch will come packing a panoramic photo feature, according to iOS developer Will Strafach – who let slip the news in a tweet that was hastily deleted after its appearance. Apple’s also expected to launch a new “Loop” accessory for the new iPod Touch at today’s event.
