Other handy features include an alarm function which will get you out of bed to the soothing warblings of your favourite DJ, as well as programme reminders and track sharing functions to let your friends in on your favourite shows.

The new BBC iPlayer Radio app is available on iOS via the App Store from today, with an Android version of the app due in the not-too-distant future.
