Downloadable tweets coming to Twitter this year

Twitter CEO reveals new features incoming – including interactive tweets and downloadable tweet archives

It used to be that your old tweets were effectively lost to the ether once you’d posted them to Twitter – but not for much longer. Twitter is set to roll out a new feature that’ll let you download all of your past tweets, according to CEO Dick Costolo.

Speaking at an Online News Association conference, Costolo revealed that Twitter is hoping to enable users to download an archive of their past tweets before the end of the year.

Twitter is also working on a tool that’ll let you curate and display cards of tweets based around breaking news and current events. Interactive features could include live polls that display the latest results in a tweet box.
