It’s official. Joost is the new name for The Venice Project; Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom’s latest venture to transform the internet into TV.The software download uses peer-to-peer tactics to stream full-screen video, currently from the likes of MTV, Warner Bros and Five’s Fifth Gear. It’s not freely available yet but we’ve been behind the scenes of the heavily guarded beta test today and can confirm that the latest edition of the software has the new logo, but with an otherwise unchanged interface. There’s good news for eager square-eyes anxious to get in on the beta, more invites are going out to bring new users on board. You can get in on the act by signing up on the website or nudging a friend already in there to bung you an invite. Just don’t ask us, we’re all out.
