Google invites suggest October 29th is the day of the Nexus

It’s that time of year for Google to unveil its latest LG Nexus 4 smartphone and tablets

Google has just sent out colourful invites to an October 29th event which will likely see the next Google Nexus phone and tablets unveiled.

Rumours of an LG Nexus 4, based on the LG Optimus G, suggest we could see a 4.7in handset unveiled. While it will likely sport the latest version of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, that rumoured speedy quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor could power a first appearance for Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. We’re also hoping for Nexus mobiles from Samsung and Sony if rumours of Google watering down the Nexus brand are true.

And what kind of Nexus event would it be without a nod to the Nexus 7 tablet? So we’re expecting the rumoured 32GB Nexus 7 and the budget £60 Nexus 7 to show up too.

The press conference will start at 3pm (GMT) and will be streamed live – check back on October 29th for detailed coverage.
