HTC First pre-loaded with Facebook Home is revealed

HTC officially outs the long-rumoured Facebook phone, pre-loaded with the ultimate social network smarts

HTC has revealed the previously leaked HTC First, the world’s first device to come pre-loaded with Facebook Home, the next evolution in the social network giant’s steps to world domination. You can read all about Facebook Home in our need to know guide. Meanwhile, let’s take a look at what’s packed beneath the colourful body of the HTC First?

For starters, the HTC First is rocking a 4.3in 720p display and is running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Powering the First is a 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM and up to 16GB of internal storage.

We’d like to think that the 5MP rear camera is good enough for low-light duck face shots (Facebook’s bread and butter), while the 1.6MP front-facing offering should be enough for spontaneous self-portrait profile snaps.

The HTC First will of course be running Facebook Home straight out of the box and will offer 4G speeds for impatient social butterflies who need to know everything immediately.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated with UK prices and release dates, so stay tuned. Those of you in the States can however pick up a HTC First on April 12th for US$99 on a two year AT&T contract.
