iTunes Match is live in the UK

Get your cloud music compliments of Apple, right now

iTunes Match, the cloud based music service, has at long last launched in the UK. It might be a few months behind the US, but now UK record companies have come to an agreement with Apple, you’ll be able to backup your music library to the cloud for £22 per year and stream it across all your iOS devices, as well as Apple TVs and Macs running iTunes.

iTunes Match will even back up your less than legitimately paid for songs to the cloud, swapping out your old MP3 files for 256kbps iTunes tracks.

This is great news for iOS 5 users that want to free up space on their mobile device, but not such great news for Amazon who has been trying to corner this market for some time now.
