We’re all for the likes of the gorgeous Shine, but if your budget is more Primark than Prada, LG’s now got your back too. With only moderately less fanfare than the Prada phone launch, it’s wheeled out the KP202 flip phone to a couple of party poppers and a limp balloon.Taking a lead from Nokia’s 3109, it’s kept things simple but does at least offer a (lowly) VGA camera and a modest 64MB of onboard memory for polyphonic ringtones, photos and not much more. There’s no music player, no video calling, but it does have a nifty ‘continuous shot’ mode for snapping three pictures in a row. Being tri-band it’ll happily roam in the States and it’s a relatively svelte 20mm when closed. And the price? A mere fifty of your British pounds, sans contract. See, it’s looking more attractive already.
On a Wing and a prayer
Let’s call this what it is: the limpest announcement of a flagship phone in the history of telephony
Does LG’s new flagship have what it takes to tempt people away from its main Android and iOS peers?
