LG’s Optimus 3D goes official

Seconds after we posted our rumour on the Optimus 3D, the handset’s gone official. Typical…

A moment ago, you may have read our speculative piece on LG’s expected 3D handset, the Optimus 3D. Well, it’s now gone legit, with LG sending us a note saying the world’s first 3D smartphone will definitely launch at Mobile World Congress later this month.

As well as a glasses-free 3D LCD display, it’ll tote a pair of rear-facing cams for recording your own footage, and will support DLNA for sharing, plus an HDMI out.

We’ll have hands-on and more details from MWC in a couple of weeks.
