Proving once and for all that you can’t keep a good Manhunt down, the Video Appeals Committee has just shredded the ban on Manhunt 2.

It means it now finally has the green light for release in the UK. The one proviso is it gets slapped with an 18 sticker to keep little Johnny from going on a slashing spree in the living room.

It’s taken months to get this far after the British Board of Film Classification originally deemed it too violent for both kids and ‘vulnerable adults’. Since then it’s been to the VAC once already and then over to the High Court. Now, though, it seems the issue is finally settled.

Naturally, makers Rockstar are pretty chuffed, pointing out that the VAC confirmed its original view that the game was no worse than many other 18-rated films and games.

Course, some PS3 and 360 owners have been able to snaffle imports but for the highly anticipated Wii version any foreign versions have required a mod chip to get working so this is good news indeed.

No word on exactly when we’ll be able to get our hands on it but hopefully it won’t be to long before it’s in the shops. Now, where did we put that Blu-Ray copy of Saw IV?
