An invite has just landed in our virtual laps from our gaming PC buddies at Rock, luring us to a glittering global launch next week where a new ‘technological brand’, dubbed Meivo, will be revealed. All we know from the card is that Meivo stands for Multimedia Integrating Video-On-Demand and, er, that’s it.There are a few other clues. The enigmatic invite cites the dates of VoD milestones including the launch of Channel 4’s 4oD, the birth of the Skype founder’s new baby, Joost, and the announcement of the Beeb’s imminent on-demand plans. It all culminates on 13th March 2007 with the entry: ‘Meivo exposed, Rock unleashes new product worldwide’.So what could it be? A new Joost rival? An Evesham-esque IPTV box? Or something completely new? You, dear readers, will be the first to know. Or rather we will, then we’ll tell you, ok?
