MWC 2013 – Asus reveals PadFone 2 price, PadFone Infinity and 7in FonePad at MWC 2013

Asus' second phone-cum-tablet outing is set to hit UK shelves at the nd of this week. Will you be taking the plunge?

Asus has announced that the PadFone 2 will be available to pre-order on Friday 1st March for £600, for both the 4.7in phone and 10.1in PadFone 2 station.

On the smartphone side of things, the PadFone 2 features a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2GB of RAM along with a bright 720p IPS+ screen, 32GB of storage and 13MP rear camera. The PadFone 2 station (which’ll blow up the smartphone’s screen to 10.1in on its 1280×800 display) prmises to triple the phone’s battery life.

If you’ve got higher ambitions (and deeper pockets) you can always spring for the Asus PadFone Infinity which is the same setup, with a 5in 1080p smartphone with the newer 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 cpu and 64GB of storage.. The extra shine will cost £800, and availability for the Infinity is unknown at this stage.

While we’re at it, Asus also revealed the FonePad – a gargantuan Android ‘phablet’ with a 1280×800 7in display, a front-facing 1.3MP camera and an Intel Atom processor and 1GB of RAM running the show. 16GB of storage can be boosted with up to 32GB micro SD support and it comes with a wallet-friendly £180 price tag. Just don’t try to slip it into your chinos.
