Napster has announced it has expanded its online catalogue to over 10 millions tracks, making it one of the largest online digital music libraries in the UK.
With We7 following in Spotify’s footsteps with a mobile app, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to decide which music service to use – but Napster has made it easy for audiophiles, dwarfing Spotify’s 6 million tracks and We7’s 4 million offering.
Napster has bucked the trend of offering a free, ad-loaded service – instead choosing to offer unlimited streaming of its tracks and 5 MP3s to keep monthly for a reduced £5 per month, £5 cheaper than Spotify.
It does of course lack the offline listening and handy mobile phone app of its rivals, but there was talk that the latter was in development last year although nothing was confirmed.
