Nikon D800 rumoured to shoot 36MP photos

Could the cam giant’s next DSLR offering pack a mighty megapixel-punch?

Nikon Rumours has reported with 99% certainty that the Nikon D800 will feature a humungous 36MP sensor, having received some additional information following digicame-info‘s report on the DSLR’s supposedly leaked specs.

Although details such as SD/CF card support, 1080p/30fps video and a larger display have yet to be confirmed, they don’t seem too far-fetched in the company of the pixel-packing sensor.

Estimated to cost around US$4,000, the D800 looks set to make its mark on both your photos and your wallets. Stay tuned for more info and pricing, as and when we get it.
