Panasonic unveils Lumix GF6 with NFC

Panasonic reveals its latest NFC-packing, Wi-Fi-toting 16MP Lumix snapper with a 180 degree tilt screen for easy self-shots

Panasonic has taken the wraps off the Lumix GF6, the latest single lens mirrorless camera to join its Lumix G family.

Aimed at people who want quality shots that compacts and smartphones can’t offer, the Panasonic Lumix GF6 will arrive packing Wi-Fi and NFC smarts to let users share their photos with ease.

The Lumix GF6 also has a bright 3in 180 degree tilting touchscreen for easy self-shots, 19 Instagram-like filters and a stop motion animation mode for reaping plenty of internet points with the help of your cat. Full HD video recording and a meal recognition mode (yes, really) are also thrown in for good measure.

Camera specs include a larger 16MP sensor and an upgraded Panasonic Venus Engine for increased focus accuracy and improved low light performance.

Throw in the ability to remotely control the GF6 with a free iOS or Android app as well as editing tools like Clear Retouch (which lets you delete pesky background photobombers) and Panasonic has what looks to be a flexible snapper with an array of tech weapons in its arsenal.

The Panasonic Lumix GF6 hit shelves at the end of April and will be available in both black and white, with a price tag of £500 (for the 14-22mm lens kit) and £650 (for the 45-150mm twin kit).
