Samsung’s pancake-thin Ultra series is renowned for making a mockery of the laws of physics, but its new G600 really takes the biscuit. It’s 14.9mm thick yet somehow crams in a 5MP camera, an FM radio and stereo Bluetooth. Crikey and, indeed, crikey.Besides making the current 5MP camphone crew – the Nokia N95, Sony Ericsson K850i and LG KG920 – look positively pot-bellied, the phone was really quite fun to use in our brief demo. The LED flash seemed quite bright, and there are plenty of camera settings like panorama and editing tools to play with.Surely there are some sacrifices? Well, the phone is only 2.5G, but has EDGE support for slightly nippier web browsing. The battery is also apparently only capable of an average 3 hours talk-time.But music seems to be another strength – the stereo Bluetooth can support two headsets, and Napster junkies will be pleased to hear that the music player supports protected WMA files. The G600 is slated for a mid-August launch on most networks, but look out for it Stuff.tv’s vidcast and reviews very soon.Related storiesHands on with the Samsung G600LG shine gets a macho makeoverHas O2 bagged the iPhone?
