If you’re a Sky+ user, you’re now £120 a year better off. Murdoch’s men have dropped the £10 a month subscription for its own-brand PVR as of 1st July. All you need is to be signed up to one of the Sky Digital packages (i.e. not Freesat, sorry) and you’re all set.Try and sign up today and you’ll still find the charge added to your monthly bill but we have been assured that come the beginning of July it’ll be completely gratis to new and existing customers, with letters to that effect being printed out for dispatch as we speak. That still leaves the small matter of the £100 charge for the box, but the good news is that the installation charge is being sliced from £60 to £30.Course, if you’re a multi-room, premium sports, movies or HD subscriber, you’ve already been benefiting from free Sky+, so don’t expect a cut in your package price. That’d just be greedy.
