Sat-nav and phone: the greatest pairing since Fred and Ginger. But Sony’s been a little slow to cotton on to the awesome duo – until now. It’s finally equipped its latest Nav-U units with the requisite Bluetooth. Both the 4.8in NV-U93T (pictured) and NV-U83 will now call handsfree, send texts and direct dial POIs like pros. Let’s see – Indian takeaway on the way home? Just look up the curry house and, oop, we’re dialling already. Marvellous.Like their predecessors they get Sony’s intriguing, if slightly pointless, Gesture Command. The Europe-wide U93T gets real-time traffic info for avoiding snarl-ups – optional on the UK only U83. And we really can’t get enough of Sony’s dashboard-clinging sucker-cups. Believe us, they’re fab.If all this Bluetooth malarkey sounds too much to handle you can always go for the cheaper U73T and U53, which match their bigger brothers in every other way but get smaller 4.3in widescreens, the cute little felllas.Essentials Sony Nav-U NV-U83, U93T/U53, U73T Price: £TBA On sale: January 2008/November 2007 Contact: Sony Related stories: TomTom 920 T conquers Europe and America STUFF ESSENTIALS – Big-screen sat-navs Go!
