Sony PS4 may not arrive until November 2013
You may have to wait to get your hands on the PlayStation 4 – but when you do it could be controlled from your mobile

With just a scant few hours until Sony’s big PlayStation announcement, news is leaking out from Kotaku’s sources that it may not arrive until November. But when the PS4 does drop, you’ll be able to control it from your mobile.
Mobile interaction is no surprise from a modern console-cum-media-hub. Being able to remotely purchase a game for it – leaving it to download at home – is inspired. The ability to chat with PlayStation friends from your mobile is a nice touch too. Plus you should also be able to remotely watch your friends playing their PS4 games, even if you don’t own the title they’re playing – that sure beats a trailer. Less thrillingly, there’s chatter that the PlayStation World – replacing PlayStation Plus – may work on a paid plan like Xbox Live.
Kotaku claims their source is reliable – the same one that dropped the “Orbis” PS3 and “Durango” Xbox 720 codenames – and that November on-sale date could be a cunning move on Sony’s part to take the wind out of Ouya’s sales. Either way, we won’t have long to wait. It’s also reported that the PS4 will come with a PlayStation Eye as standard – a possible riposte to rumours of the Xbox 720 featuring always-on Kinect 2.0.
Check back right here for the full PlayStation 4 announcement live at 11pm GMT today.
