Sparse wallets rejoice, the plastic budget iPhone 5S cometh
The iPhone 5S may not be an incremental increase but a decrease, in price and build quality

News of an iPhone, half the price of the current model, has been rife online. Now reports suggest the iPhone 5S will be a plastic smartphone.
According to Jefferies & Company analyst Peter Misek the plastic iPhone 5S will launch in June or July this year. This isn’t far off other budget iPhone rumours that claim August as the launch day. And with renders of plastic iPhones online already we’d wager it’s only a matter of time.
Expect to pay around £220 for the handset. Whether that price gets you a Retina Display in this rumoured 4in device is still up for debate. But with the iPad Mini forgoing quality for price it doesn’t seem unimaginable – even if Steve Jobs wouldn’t have approved.
