There will be no new Xbox 720 shown at E3, says Microsoft
Hopes of an Xbox 720 reveal at this year's E3 are dashed as Microsoft quashes the rumours
Microsoft has stated to Kotaku that “there will be no talk of new Xbox hardware at E3 or anytime soon”, felling all hope of gamers catching a glimpse of the next-gen Xbox 720 at this year’s E3.
Previous rumours pointed to an Xbox 720 reveal this year with a release date set for 2013, but now Microsoft, like Sony, looks set to settle in for the long haul, confirming reports from Microsoft France earlier this year.
Microsoft believes that titles like Halo 4, Forza Horizon and Fable: The Journey should keep gamers tied over for another year, and with continuing dashboard and functionality updates, we reckon gamers shouldn’t have much of a problem lasting another year without a hardware refresh.
The Xbox 720 will reportedly arrive packing AMD Radeon 6000 series graphics and will have 20 per cent more power than Nintendo’s Wii U, which will be making an appearance at E3.
