A Vertu too far

So far we’ve been humouring the Vertu range of obscenely priced but low-spec phones. We’ve overlooked the lack of video calling, megapixel cameras or even colour screens and quietly admired their solidly built craftsmanship and caviar quaffing exclusivity.And then, well, this – The Signature Cobra. Were it a costume-jewelled fascia it would be in the bargain bin with the Budweiser faceplate and England 2006 World Cup accessory pack. Instead this is a genuine ruby, emerald and diamond-encrusted mobile designed by jewellery house Boucheron.Thankfully only 26 have been made. But if you miss out there’s always the $115,000 Signature Python to tempt you.Fool. Money. Need we say more?
