What does an Xbox Live Gold membership grant you? Free games. Loads and loads of free games. Each and every month you’ll find a handful of gratis games to download on Xbox One, as well as a couple for Xbox 360, and they’re yours to keep so long as you keep paying for the subscription. Luckily, we’ve got you covered: these are the free Xbox Live Gold games that are available in June 2018.
Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia (Xbox One)
The two previous Assassin’s Creed: Chronicles games have been freebies in the past, and now Russia is here to complete the set. Like the others, it transfers the series’ stealth-action approach into a side-scrolling design with half-decent results. This one’s free throughout June.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (Xbox One)
It was free on PS4 a few months back and now it’s free on Xbox One: Konami’s latest stealth-action game takes on more of an open-world approach but retains the familiar quirkiness the series has become known for. It’s plenty satisfying despite some rough edges. Snag this one until 15 June.
Smite: Gold Bundle (Xbox One)
Smite is actually a free-to-play game – it’s like a more action-centric take on League of Legends – but this Gold Bundle gives you US$100+ worth of in-game purchases, including playable gods, skins, and other bits and pieces. Grab this one between 16 June and 15 July.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (Xbox One/360)
Sure, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is an unabashed Mario Kart clone, but it’s probably the best knock off the genre’s ever seen. This second entry pairs blissful Sega fan service with shape-shifting cars that turn into planes and boats. It’s a blast, and you can get it free between 1-15 June.
Lego Indiana Jones 2 (Xbox One/360)
It’s the old, familiar Lego smash-and-bash formula applied to another franchise. This time around, Lego Indiana Jones 2 bundles in some additional levels based on the first three flicks, along with a lot more content based on the Jones film that most people prefer to forget ever existed. Still, if you want it, the game is free from 16-30 June.
