How you’ll order Pizza Hut pizzas in the future (maybe)

Do you like pizza? And touchscreens? Of course you do – and now you can see the two working in beautiful symbiosis in a new concept video for a future Pizza Hut ordering system.

The system features a touchscreen table that allows diners to “build” their perfect pizza using a variety of virtual buttons and options. These determine the size, crust, toppings etc. – and when you’re done the information is sent to the kitchen so your pizza can be cooked.

It’s genius, although given that most people don’t actually go and eat inside a Pizza Hut these days, it might be better adapted into a tablet app for home ordering. Just don’t eat your deep pan pepperoni off your iPad. That’s just gross.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 – first details revealed?

A leaker claims to have seen portions from the next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game.

As yet Activision has revealed nothing about the new CoD (not even that it exists), but YouTube user Drift0r says an employee at developer Sledgehammer sent him some files revealing game assets and one level.

In a 10-minute video, Drift0r talks about what he’s seen but doesn’t show anything for fear of (a) revealing his source and getting them sacked and (b) having his video taken down by Activision for including copyright material. He says he believes the game is set in the near future (2020s to early 2030s) and features some clever dynamic lighting with light “properly refracting off of metal things and shiny things and wet things”.

Drift0r has form, being the first person to reveal the existence of Call of Duty: Ghosts so, while he says his tipster this time round is a different person, he’s slightly more trustworthy than the average leaker. Take a look at the video above for all the details.

Facebook recruiting drone army to spread internet access around the world

Are you ready for Mark Zuckerberg’s flying robot army? Facebook is reportedly close to buying drone manufacturer Titan Aerospace, whose drones it hopes to use to spread affordable internet access to parts of the world where it doesn’t currently exist. Titan’s solar-powered drones are capable of flying at 65,000 feet for up to five years without landing, which makes them a cheap alternative to satellites.

It’s all part of Internet.org, a foundation set up by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in coalition with Nokia, Qualcomm, Samsung and others with the purpose of bringing web access to the five billion Earth-dwellers who don’t currently have it.

TechCrunch claims that Internet.org wants to start by building 11,000 Titan drones and sending them to Africa, where they can beam internet access from high in the sky. The deal will reportedly cost Facebook US$60 million (£36 million).

Batman: Arkham Knight gets first trailer

There’s a fourth Batman: Arkham game coming – and now you can get an idea what’s in store for the Caped Crusader in an announcement trailer.

It appears Batman: Arkham Knight will feature the Scarecrow as the chief protagonist (only his voice is heard in the trailer, mind you), with appearances from Two Face, Harley Quinn and the Penguin. But more exciting still could be the in-game appearance of the Batmobile – which you’ll be able to drive! To drive!

Batman: Arkham Knight will be released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC later this year.
