GTA 5 goes first-person on Xbox One and PlayStation 4
Do not adjust your screens. Rockstar's bullet-spraying masterpiece is getting more personal
Rockstar has revealed that the remastered edition of Grand Theft Auto 5 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will allow players to swap to a first-person view, providing a more personal shooting/fighting/crashing experience.
Rockstar’s animation director Rob Nelson tells IGN that a host of new changes have been implemented to accommodate the new perspective, including an optional first-person cover system, more traditional FPS controls and thousands of new animations.
The GTA series started off with a birds-eye-view camera in its 1997 debut, and stuck with it until GTA 3’s release in 2001 brought 3D graphics and an over-the-shoulder third-person view.
This will be the first time Rockstar has included first-person perspective in a GTA game, and we for one can’t wait to dive back into the madness once it lands on the Xbox One and PS4 on 18 November.
