Halo: The Master Chief Collection coming to Xbox One this year?

Microsoft has long been rumoured to launch an enhanced remake of Halo 2 later this year, much like it did for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary in 2011, and last week’s announcement of Halo 5: Guardians for a 2015 release date seemed to further open up that possibility. But it might be much more than expected, after all.

Engadget’s sources claim that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will debut on Xbox One this autumn, and it’ll include the campaigns from Halo 1-4 in a single package. Side games like Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach likely won’t make the cut (considering the title), and it’s unclear what kind of multiplayer offering it’ll include. Still, if true, that’s a big hunk of stellar shooting fun set to get a glossy new-gen bump later this year.

YouTube reportedly near deal to acquire insanely popular Twitch game video service

Online video game streaming service Twitch has become wildly popular over the last year in particular, with eSports competitions yielding 100,000+ viewers at a time for major titles and broadcast functionality built into both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Now it seems that a major suitor has come to get in on the steaming sensation.

YouTube is reportedly nearing a deal to acquire the service for US$1 billion, which would give Google’s video sharing juggernaut some serious clout in the live streaming department—not currently one of its strengths. Variety first reported the deal as agreed-upon and soon to be announced, but the Wall Street Journal says talks are still early, and a final pact has yet to be reached.

Reactions thus far to the proposed deal have been generally negative on Twitter, with users noting the inconsistencies of YouTube’s services, as well as its willingness to pull video game-related clips on Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) claims that don’t always prove to be legitimate. With luck, any potential deal won’t disrupt what’s made Twitch so wildly successful to date.

Christopher Nolan’s been on an incredible winning streak over the last decade, thanks to Inception and The Dark Knight Trilogy, so getting our first glimpse at his next film is big news indeed. We’ve now got a look at his next film Interstellar, due out in November, and it offers just enough of a tease to get us excited without spoiling too much of the premise.

The sci-fi flick involves space travel from a version of Earth that’s very grim indeed, and it’s hinted to involve time travel of sorts. Lead Matthew McConaughey is coming off of his incredible revival thanks to work in The Dallas Buyers Club and True Detective, and Nolan mainstays like Michael Caine and Anne Hathaway also appear, along with Jessica Chastain and Matt Damon. Might this be the next original space epic?

Get lunch for £1 on Monday—if you’re an O2 customer

The latest weapon in the mobile carrier wars? Cheap lunch on Mondays, apparently, if O2’s new promotion is any indication. Subscribers using the O2 Priority app can get a predetermined lunch option at one of four eateries: a one-topping personal pizza at Domino’s Pizza, a baguette with Walker’s Crisps and a Coca-Cola bottle at Upper Crust or Caffè Ritazza, or a sandwich with crisps and a bottle of soda or water at Pumpkin.

“We are proud to be reclaiming the lunch break with the O2 Priority £1 lunch,” says Nina Bibby, marketing and consumer director at O2, in a press release hilariously titled, “O2 Priority Presents, Your Lunch.” Pizza for a pound on Mondays? Well played, O2.
