Fully Charged: Android Wear 5.1.1 starts rolling out, and Apple revives the iPhone dock
Here's all the tech news you need to get the morning started
Android Wear 5.1.1 starts rolling out
Android Wear 5.1.1 is one of the biggest to date for Google’s smartwatch platform, as we detailed a few weeks back, and beyond launching on the LG Watch Urbane, it’s now starting to roll out to existing devices. Some LG G Watch R and LG G Watch owners are starting to see the update, which will hit all Android Wear watches in time.
The update brings functionality like Wi-Fi support for notifications – some watches, like the G Watch R and G Watch don’t support that due to hardware limitations – as well as wrist gestures for navigation and the ability to draw emojis to bring them to life. Be sure to read our walkthrough linked below for more on this big bundle of enhancements.

Apple releases Lightning dock
Seems the Force Touch-equipped 15in MacBook Pro and 5K Retina iMac weren’t the only things Apple released today. Also new? A minimal iPhone dock designed for Lightning-equipped models far and wide. That means the iPhone 5, 5s, 5c, 6, and 6 Plus now have an official dock, plus the latest iPod touch is compatible.
However, the price might keep some away: it’s £35 for a super-simple dock, and while you’re getting the official Apple touch, that seems like a serious premium for such a basic peripheral. And there have been third-party options for a while, including those sold by Apple itself. Curious, but it’ll probably sell.

Sega slays several mobile games
If today was the day you planned on buying a ton of old Sega games on iOS or Android, we’ve got some bad news. After ominously announcing an impending culling late last week, the company removed numerous older mobile games from both storefront yesterday.
Victims include a lot of Mega Drive ports, including Altered Beast, Streets of Rage, and the lo-fi version of Virtua Fighter 2, but also more recent entries like After Burner Climax, Jet Set Radio, and Super Monkey Ball Bounce. Not every old Sega game got the axe (the Sonic games are all intact), but the company clearly didn’t want to support such a load of titles anymore.
