15 of the best Amazon Prime Day deals
But hurry, they won’t be around for long
15 of the best Amazon Prime Day deals
Hands up who likes a bargain? Yep, that’ll be all of you then. Amazon’s fourth annual Prime Day is happening right now but finding the best deals can take ages. So don’t bother. We’ve picked out 15 of the most wallet-friendly deals available to Amazon Prime members, but hurry, they’ll only be available until the end of the day.
Sennheiser HD 4.50 (£89.99)
Cheap headphones often tend to be a false economy but when they’re made by Sennheiser you know you can rely on them. These HD 4.50 cans come with active noise cancelling, aptX Bluetooth and a lengthy 19-hour battery life, with a built-in mic for telling people to go away when their phone calls interrupt your music. They’re just £90, which is half price, making this one of the best deals of Amazon Prime Day 2018.
Wileyfox Swift 2 X (£139.99)
As smartphones go, Wileyfox’s Swift 2X was already pretty cheap but Amazon Prime Day makes it even more of a steal. With 41% knocked off the £239 asking price, you’re getting a 5.2in Android phone with a 16MP camera, fingerprint scanner, 32GB of built-in storage and a decent-sized battery for just £140. It’s made of metal too, so you’ll probably be able to pass it off as being much more expensive than that.
Hive Active Heating with installation (£138.99)
Considering most of the UK is in the middle of an extended heat wave you’re probably not thinking about your central heating much at the moment, but that’s exactly why it’s the perfect time for an upgrade. Well, that and the fact that you can get a Hive system professionally installed for 44% less than the usual cost of £249. It allows you to control your heating from your phone, which might not be of much use now, but you’ll be thanking your past self when winter kicks in.
UE Wonderboom x2 (£79)
UE’s Wonderboom is one of the best little Bluetooth speakers you can buy, with a hard-wearing waterproof chassis and great sound for its size. What makes it even better is when you pair it with a second one, which is exactly what you can do if you pick up this duo for 54% less than the usual asking price.
Amazon Echo Dot (£29.99)
Amazon’s helpful puck is a bit of a bargain at the best of times but with 40% off the usual £49.99 asking price there’s never a better time to pick one up than on Prime Day. Whether it’s your first foray into the world of AI assistants or you’re looking to bolster your Echo army by getting a Dot for every room, at this price it’d be rude not to.
Philips 55POS9002 (£1199)
55in OLED TVs don’t pop up at this price very often and considering this Philips is also a 5-star performer, if you’re in the market for a new living room centrepiece, the 55POS9002 is well worth a look. Obviously it supports 4K and HDR but it also comes with a three-sided Ambilight, which is exactly the kind of tech you didn’t know you needed until you try it out. Pick one up for 20% less than its usual price.
Xbox One S 1TB bundle (£199.99)
Is that original Xbox One of yours getting a bit wheezy? Need to free up some space under the TV? The One S is significantly smaller than Microsoft’s original version and this bundle comes with a vertical stand, an extra controller, and copies of Forza Horizon 3, Sea of Thieves and Minecraft. Sure, it’s not quite as powerful as the One X, but it still offers Ultra HD gaming with HDR, a 4K Blu-ray drive and access to 4K movies via Netflix, Amazon Prime and co. It should cost just shy of £400, but today you can pick it up for half that.
Garmin Forerunner 235 (£154.99)
If you want a watch that does more than just tell you when it’s time to go to bed, Garmin’s Forerunner 235 has GPS, measures your heart-rate and VO2 Max, and will even show notifications from your phone. You get a choice of three colours and a saving of 48% on the RRP.
Jabra Elite Sport (£105.99)
Fancy some completely wireless earphones but don’t want to look like you’ve got two USB sticks stuck in your lugs? Jabra’s Elite Sport buds might just be the answer. With a 4.5-hour battery life (plus two full charges from the battery packing carry case), they’re also waterproof, so you can wear them down the gym or out in the rain without worrying. Usually £200, today you can pick up an all-black pair for nearly half price.
Amazon Fire TV with 4K (£39.99)
One of the easiest ways of accessing 4K content in one place is now even cheaper. Saving 45% on the usual £69.99 asking price, Amazon’s Fire TV 4K plugs neatly into an HDMI port on your telly, and with the Alexa-powered remote, you only need to use your voice to summon up the Ultra HD movies and TV shows it offers.
Sony PlayStation VR starter pack + Move Controllers (£229.99)
Always fancied joining the world of VR but wanted to wait until the price went down a bit? This is the bundle for you, offering a 27% saving on the RRP. It comes with the PSVR headset, the required camera and a copy of VR Worlds – a compilation of mini-games and experiences designed to introduce you to your new VR existence. You’ll also get two Move controllers, which are crucial to interacting with the virtual world in as realistic a way as possible.
Microsoft Surface Pro (£749.99)
Microsoft’s Surface Pro is pretty much the closest thing you can get to a tablet that thinks it’s a laptop. Usually £1129, this 12.3in model comes with the nifty keyboard cover that makes it so versatile. With an i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB storage and battery life of up to 13.5 hours, it should keep you going all day.
TP-Link WiFi smart plug and Echo Dot (£39.99)
Amazon’s Echo devices really come into their own when you hook them up to your home and start controlling your lights, lamps and the like. The easiest way to do that is with a Wi-Fi plug adaptor and you can get both today for just £39.99, with this TP-Link bundle that includes an Echo Dot. Alexa, how do you spell ‘bargain’?
Hisense H50A6200UK (£369)
A 50in TV for less than £400 probably seems too good to be true but this is the kind of deal that’d have people pulling each other’s hair out on the shop floor on Black Friday. Make sure yours stays in your head by picking up a Hisense H50A6200UK from Amazon on Prime Day. It supports 4K HDR and comes with Freeview Play, which also allows you to pause and rewind live TV, plus there’s also access to streaming apps from Netflix, Amazon and co.
Honor View 10 (£339.99)
There’s a lot to choose from when it comes to affordable smartphones these days but if a OnePlus 6 is out of your price range, you could do a lot worse than Honor’s View 10. With an 18:9 ratio, 5.99in screen and very slim bezels it looks far from budget, especially when you clock the dual camera setup round the back. And with Huawei’s Kirin 970 processor and 6GB RAM, it’s no slouch either. 19% isn’t the biggest saving on this list but in actual pounds it’ll still save you 70.
