GoPro HD Hero 2 Outdoor Edition review
This supreme headcam is tough enough to capture your daring ascent and the footage won't look too shabby back at basecamp
GoPro HD Hero2 Outdoor Edition review – intro
The GoPro tends to beat its headcam competition hands down and the latest bout was no exception – it has remained our favourite action cam. It’s hard-as-nails with a handy waterproof housing, and punts out crisp 1080p video and 11MP stills at a rate of 11fps.

An extensive range of mounts is joined by inventive first- and third-party accessories, such as Wi-Fi packs for streaming putting the GoPro above the likes of the Oregon ATC Mini and Ion Air Pro Plus.
The housing’s ‘back door’ is swappable, giving you better sound recording capabilities, an LCD screen – or even a buoyant flotation pack.

Rivals, step down: the GoPro offers extra detail, more accurate colours and better exposure than others, while its super-wide 170 degree field-of-view makes getting those cinematic wide shots a snip. In other words: awesome.
