Jackie Chan reveals quad-core Samsung flip phone

It'll never see the light of day on our shores, but there's no denying the wacky appeal of Sammy's mish-mashed flip phone

Jackie Chan has taken a break from near-death movie stunts to help Samsung launch the bizarre (and terribly-named) SCH-W999 smartphone in China.

Featuring a mish-mash of specs ranging from a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 8MP camera, 2GB of RAM and 16GB memory with expandable storage, it also sports dual 3.7in 800×480 AMOLED displays.

Not the sharpest of resolutions on offer then, but given the fact that there are two, we’ll let Sammy off. There’s something we quite like about the wacky black and gold flipper, although that may just be our love for Mr Chan seeping through to our judgement centres.

Either way, it’s available for around US$3000 dollars. Factor in the plane ticket and it looks like we’ll be giving this niche hybrid a miss. Unless anyone’s going to China anytime soon? In which case, we’ll take eight.
