Mysterious Japanese electronic sage Mitsubishi – yes, it’s still around – is unleashing a pair of high-spec 20-odd inch HDTVs. Rather than sticking to the 40 to 50in models, if you’re looking to get your HDMI multi-fix these smaller models will be cheaper yet still support full HD resolutions.According to Mitsubishi, the 24 and 22in screens will support resolutions of 1900×1200 and a healthy 1000:1 aspect ratio. Other than the HDMIs, there’s a DVI-D HDCP – so they’re ideal for PC use – but no mention of any SCART ports. The 22in MDT221WG and 24in MDT242WG are expected to retail for around £610 when they hit Japanese shelves in December. It’s TVs with specs like these that usually find their merry way to the UK high street, and a multi-HDMI, 20-something inch, full HD set would be welcome on these shores.
