Since the launch of the 120GB Xbox 360 Elite in the US (yes Microsoft, we’re still waiting), the PS3’s once generous 60GB drive has been looking a little paltry in comparison.Sony’s long denied rumours of a bigger drive but one glance at the spec list for the forthcoming South Korean launch reveals that an 80GB model is indeed in the offing. However, Sony has confirmed that it has no plans to bring the modest upgrade to the UK anytime soon. With the Xbox 360 Elite now imminent it would look a somewhat paltry improvement, particularly as Sony guru Ken Kuturagi has spoken in the recent past about wanting to hit the 250GB mark.Of course, if it’s that big a deal, you can always get the screwdriver out and slot in your own hard disk. An option sadly not available for our 20GB 360s. Damn you, proprietary hardware.
