Shure has launched some new high-end noise isolators that promise to be great for blocking out city noise, but less friendly to your wallet.
The E500PTH earphones sit at the top of the company’s excellent tree of in-ear jobs, which block out noise by forming a seal in your ear canal rather than using noise-cancelling tech.
We’re big fans of its E5c and E4c predecessors – which cost £220 and £370 respectively – and the newbies should improve the sound quality further thanks to the presence of three drivers rather than the usual two.
That’s the only real difference between the E500s and the E5cs, alongside some smart new, PSP-matching styling.
So, what’s the premium? An overdraft-destroying £420. Still, the good thing about noise-isolators is that you can’t hear your bank manager crying. The E500s will be available from July. For more info on the range head over to Shure’s site here.
