Netflix unveils House Of Cards Season 4 trailer and release date
The announcement was made during last night's Republican Party presidential debate
Donald Trump may well reign supreme as 2015’s most contentious US politician, but next year he better brace himself for some competition.
The nefarious Frank Underwood will return to Netflix on 4th March 2016 for House of Cards’ season four. Netflix signed on for another series of its much-lauded political drama way back in April and officially teased its release in a cheeky TV spot during last night’s Republican Party presidential debate.
“It’s a new day in America. Today, more people will go to work, return home to their families, and sleep more soundly than ever before – all because one man refuses to settle, putting people before politics,” claims a stirringly patriotic narrator. “That man is Frank Underwood.”
It’s been a productive year for Netflix, which has released a host of new, highly praised original content, including Marvel’s Daredevil and Jessica Jones, A Very Murray Christmas and the particularly brutal Narcos.
Of course, House of Cards was the TV and movie streaming service’s first show to earn a swathe of awards, including two Golden Globes and six Emmys.
Following a mixed reception for its third season, it’ll be interesting to see whether the show can return to form on its fourth outing.
