These are the PC games you can play for free with Twitch Prime in August

Twitch isn’t just a way to watch other people play video games, if you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber, you automatically have access to Twitch Prime, which includes several free games each month. Bonus! Download them from the Twitch desktop app and they’re yours to keep, so if you haven’t snagged the several free July games still available from the expanded Prime Day promotion, you’ve still got a few days to do so. August’s free games, meanwhile, are available all month from 1 August.

SteamWorld Dig

SteamWorld Dig

This fan-favourite platform-action game finds you exploring beneath the surface in search of loot and exciting challenges. SteamWorld Dig has a Metroid-like feel to the world and is also packed with personality.

Antihero

Antihero

Build up and oversee a thieves’ guild in this Victorian-era, board game-esque experience, which finds you recruiting thugs, blackmailing folks, and using other shady tactics to amass power. Besides the single-player story campaign, there’s also online and local PvP battles.

Jotun: Valhalla Edition

Jotun: Valhalla Edition

Jotun is a gorgeous, Norse-inspired action game. It puts you in the boots of Viking warrior Thora, who must atone for her “inglorious” demise and prove her worth to enter Valhalla. You might need the grit of Thor (or Thora, for that matter) to survive this tough experience.

Death Squared

Death Squared

You’ll need to work together or die hilariously in Death Squared, a tense cooperative game about guiding little robots through trap-filled obstacle courses. It’s best experienced with two or four players as you attempt to navigate in unison and avoid a grim demise.

Wizardry 6-8

Wizardry 6-8

Got an itch for old-school PC role-players? You might be able to scratch it with this compendium of classic Wizardry games: 1990’s Wizardry 6 (pictured), 1992’s Wizardry 7, and 2001’s Wizardry 8, the last of which shifted from lo-fi pixels to 3D graphics.
