CES 2015: Talking wearables, fashion collaborations and selfie drones with Intel’s Mike Bell

The Vice President and General Manager, New Devices at Intel tells us what the future of wearable tech looks like

All this week, Stuff is running interviews and discussions on the International News Stage at CES 2015, the biggest and craziest technology show in the world.

Michael A. Bell is the brains behind Intel’s wearable tech push. From collaborations with fashion brands to launching new computing platforms upon which ingenious new devices can be built (the tiny Curie being the latest), he’s a man with a plan in the midst of a thousand chancers.

Here, Stuff’s Will Findlater and Mike Bell discuss why fashion is so important in wearable tech, what the Curie is capable of and the power of the maker movement in determining what gadgets we’ll all be donning in the near future.

About

Will is a contributing editor and ex-Editor-in-Chief of Stuff. He's been here a while: since 2004, in fact. Things have changed a fair bit since then, although he still gets ribbed for his ongoing respect for 'pioneering' Windows Mobile PDAs. He lives in hope that a new gadget will some day emerge that excites him as much as his Amiga did when he was nine. (The iPhone came pretty close.)
