Aston Martin’s Zagato shooting brake might be the ultimate grand tourer
A super-exclusive supercar with junk in the trunk - or whatever you want to put back there, really
It’s the millionaire’s dilemma: you want to drive your fancy supercar down to Monaco for the weekend, but the fire-breathing V12 engine means there’s no room for your suitcase. Not so with the Vantage Zagato Shooting Brake, the last of four ultra-limited-edition autos built to comemorate the partnership between Aston Martin and independent coachbuilder Zagato. Only 99 Zagato Coupes, 99 Volantes, 99 Shooting Brakes, and 28 Speedsters will be sold, all with 580bhp V12 engines (naturally aspirated, of course) but only the Shooting Brake has room for more than an overnight bag. The elongated rear has Zagato’s signature “double-bubble” roof, and makes room for an extended boot that will happily hold a pair of suitcases. The lucky 99 owners will even get a set of bespoke luggage with their keys, tailored to match the interior trim. Every one has already been sold ahead of a 2018 delivery date, and if you have to ask how much it costs, you probably couldn’t have afforded it in the first place.
