Today’s PC gamers have a thirst for speed that can’t just be quenched by few goes on Gran Turismo – they want Core Duo processing, and Alienware’s here to deliver it with processor updates for two of its biggest-selling laptops.

The lucky beggars in question are the 15.4in Area-51 m5550, the gamer’s choice, and the 14.1in Sentia m3450, which is more suited to the mobile workers among you.

Specs on the laptops are almost identical. Both have up to 120GB hard-drives, 512MB memory as standard, Wi-Fi and plenty of ports with three USB 2.0s, a video-out and a TV-out. The only differences are the screen sizes, paint jobs and the graphics cards, with the Area-51 winning out here with a superior nVidia GeForce Go 7600.

Their ruthlessly efficient new processors should also keep the battery lives up to the four-hour mark. There’s one final bonus, too: price tags that are, in Alienware’s world, quite wallet-friendly.
