It’s the news that many iPhone owners and fanciers have been talking about – and dribbling over – in their sleep for weeks. Apple finally announced yesterday the release of the SDK (Software Development Kit) for the iPhone, which enables third-party applications to be developed for the iPhone without jailbreaking it.

This arguably makes the iPhone a more attractive proposition for those of you who have been sitting on the fence. But does it really make all the difference?
