It’s been four years since Belkin brought gamers a little unfair advantage with the now legendary Nostromo SpeedPad N52. Now it’s back with a fully updated version ready to wreak havoc online. In that time it’s developed a memory for retaining custom key settings when taken from machine to machine. And we suspect it’s been working at the tanning salon because all the keys now have a nice neon-blue backlit glow to them, for those Red Bull fuelled late night frag sessions.Underneath, the non-slip rubber feet grip on like orphaned monkeys while you take down half of Christendom with the now familiar 15 programmable key array. Like its predecessor there’s also a built-in scroll wheel for complete one-handed control, allowing the other to gesticulate wildly or get on with a little light paperwork. If a thumbpad is more your style, there’s one of those on board too, complete with removable joystick so you can pretend you’re playing on your old-school Atari. Speaking of which, it reminds us of another old-school accessory, the Nintendo Powerglove. Ah, memories.EssentialsBelkin n52te SpeedPadPrice: £50On sale: NovemberContact: BelkinRelated stories:STUFF ESSENTIALS – mighty miceEvesham Cosmos joins the gaming EliteBuy Belkin – help fight breast cancer
