Deal of the Week: Google Chromecast plus 2 months Now TV for £25!

Watch Game of Thrones for free! With no Sky sub!

What is it?

Why, it’s a Google Chromecast of course – the circular streaming thingy that pipes all manner of web-based TV into your telly.

What does it do?

Pay attention, will you! We already said: it streams internet TV into your flatscreen of choice. Almost everything you could want is on there: Netflix, Now TV, BBC iPlayer, All 4, YouTube, Google Play Movies and loads more. Music fan? You also get access to the likes of Spotify, Deezer, Vevo and Google Play Music. You can even play games on it. It’s all easily controllable via the Chromecast app on your smartphone and you can even ‘cast’ web pages on your laptop to your TV, if you’re that way inclined. And who are we to judge?

Is it any good?

But of course. We wouldn’t be recommending it otherwise. We gave it a full five stars in our review last year and we don’t give away those previous stars to any old gadget. We love how it looks (although most of the time that won’t matter, as it’ll be behind the TV), we love how fast it is and we love its simplicity. And its price of course.

Anything wrong with it?

Well technically it’s missing Amazon Prime Instant Video, if that’s of interest to you. But you can get around that, by watching it on your laptop then casting the open tab to your TV. So no, not really.

Is this really a good deal?

It sure is. Its £25 price tag is now standard, but the extra sweetener here is the two months of Now TV Entertainment you get thrown in for free when you buy it from Tesco Direct. Two months of Now TV Entertainment would set you back £13.98, so you’re getting £40 worth of stuff for £25. That’s a 37.5% saving, maths fans. Now TV Entertainment is pretty good year round, but right now it’s unmissable because, as you might have noticed, the new series of Game of Thrones has just started. The two months you’ll get here should see you through the entire 10-episode run.

OK, I’m convinced. Where do I get it?

You get it from Tesco Direct and you do that by clicking this link here. You’re welcome.
