PC gamers, listen up – Dell has just pulled the covers off what it is describing as the “most powerful 11-inch laptop in the universe”, and its specs are aimed at you lot.

First unveiled at CES, the Alienware M11x gaming laptop is certainly a dinky one compared to the 15- and 17-inch options on the market, but therefore it manages to keep the weight down to just over 2kg.

As always, you can tweak the specs to suit you, but the top spec M11x would include an Intel Core 2 Duo SU 7300 chip, 1GB Nvidia GeForce graphics card, up to 8GB DDR3 RAM and a choice of 500GB HDD or 256GB SSD.

You can also expect 3 USB ports, HDMI and Firewire, plus up to 8.5 hours of battery life for on-the-go gaming.

If portable gaming is more important than screen size to you, the M11x is available now from £749, but expect to pay considerably more if you want to go for the bumper spec sheet.
