Exclusive – iPhone 5 to be released on September 21st

An anonymous tipster spills the beans on Apple's much-anticipated next-gen iPhone. Top up the salt shakers and dive on through for all the juicy details

An anonymous tipster who claims to be a previous Vodafone employee with insider knowledge has revealed a plethora of iPhone 5 details to Stuff, including the confirmation of its previously speculated September 21st release date.

In addition, our source also claims that white and black iPhone 5 models will be sporting smaller 9-pin dock connectors, supporting past dock connector rumours but not quite matching up with the previously speculated 8-pin connector. The iPhone 5 will also apparently arrive with a 9-pin to 32-pin dock adapter to ensure that existing iAccessories will continue to work with the iPhone 5.

Interestingly, a 5in screen is reportedly on the cards (contradicting the general consensus of a 4in screen) and the iPhone 5 is expected to range from £450-£550.

There’s no need to tell you to take all of this with a near-lethal dose of salt by now, so keep your ears pricked for more details as and when we get them.

In the meantime, check out our iPhone 5 rumour roundup for all the latest news in one handy place.
