Ferrari Pininfarina Sergio concept: No windscreen? No big deal

Late design legend Sergio Pininfarina provides the inspiration and name for Ferrari’s new roadster concept

Ferrari has already unveiled one new car at this week’s Geneva Motor Show (the LaFerrari, its first hybrid), but it wasn’t done there: it also whipped the white sheets off the Pininfarina Sergio, a two-seater concept named after the legendary designer, who passed away last year.

Pininfarina’s 1965 Ferrari Dino Berlinetta Speciale also provides the inspiration for the Sergio, which as you can see from the photo above doesn’t have a windscreen. The shape of the car channels the wind around and over the driver and passenger, essentially making a “windscreen of air”.

We do wonder if that will act as a huge air brake and slow the car down, but apparently the Sergio can go from 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds thanks to its 570 horsepower 4.5 litre V8 engine, and will max out at 199mph. Not exactly a chugger.
