Trent Reznor’s at it again. A week after Coldplay made the lead single from their new album Viva La Vida available for nowt, Mr Reznor has trumped Chris Martin and co by putting another full Nine Inch Nails album online for free. At this rate i’m starting to wonder if he’s just having a spring clean of his recording studio. But while a sense of déjà vu can be excused, The Slip is about as far removed from the ambient soundscapes on previous free album Ghosts I-IV as you can get. This is, for the most part, straight-up rock. This time, though, there’s no $300 super-ultra-wunderbar-deluxe edition to hemorrhage your monthly wages on, you just get a choice of audio quality, from MP3 all the way up to WAV for all you proper audiophiles out there. Check it out for yourself at NIN’s official website.
