Gadget of the Day: Pentax K100D DSLR

If you’ve been waiting for prices to come down before you take the DSLR leap then start limbering up. They’ve just dipped below the magic £300 mark at Jessops with Pentax’s diminutive yet feature packed shooter, the K100D.Announced almost a year ago to the day and finally launched last July, it would be shuffling off to take its pension if it were any other gadget. But in the realm of the DSLR it’s barely out of nappies.The 6.1MP sensor isn’t quite up there with the latest 8MP and 10MP crop, but built-in shake reduction and a 2.5in display are still worthy headliners. At this price, and with an 18-55mm kit lens thrown in, it’d be rude not to.
