Hey Mario, Pac-Man’s gonna get you. At least that’s what Microsoft hopes. It’s loaded a bunch of pick-up-and-play favourites on to its new base model, the Xbox 360 Arcade.
Coming in at just twenty notes more than Nintendo’s Wii, it replaces the Core, adding an all-important HDMI slot and snipping the cable on the bundled controller to go wireless.
There’s still no hard drive but it does come with a 256MB memory card pre-loaded with five of the most shifted titles from Xbox LIVE Arcade: PAC-MAN Championship Edition, Uno, Luxor 2, Boom Boom Rocket and Feeding Frenzy.
Hardly Halo 3 but then it’s aimed at family types who might have been tempted to buy the kids a Nintendo this Christmas. Still, there’s nothing to stop you turning off the parental controls and getting your frag on with the Master Chief. Pesky kids can go play outside.
