Hi-res 300ppi E Ink display coming

Epson and E Ink team up to wage war on their low-res enemies

E Ink is still like the spotty kid at display school. Nice, but lacking the glossy shine of some of his peers and struggling for popularity. Even the Kindle’s reading prowess struggles to gain mainstream recognition away from the hushed shelves of the library. Perhaps that’s why E Ink’s sought out Epson in a corner of the playground and made a pact to become cooler. The result? A paper display of such high resolution, you’ll need to borrow the mathlete team captain’s glasses to see the pixels. Could this 2400×1650 300ppi screen hook up with Amazon’s rumoured Kal-El quad-core tablet for a pre-Christmas release and give the school bully – iPad – a taste of his own medicine?
